The back bone of any good ergonomic lift assist or ergonomic handling system is the crane rail. Enclosed track crane systems are fabricated from steel or extruded from aluminum. On 90% of applications, we use enclosed track rail which offers low mass, clean running surfaces, all bolt up construction, which is easily installed by your maintenance group. We also can handle the installation of your systems if you desire.
The premium Ingersoll Rand – Zimmerman enclosed track rail systems offers articulating end trucks, which benefits the operators with lower initial force required for movement. Resistance is typically 1% of load, so only 5 lbs of force is required to move 500 lbs. Many high cycle applications use this design due to the low mass and excellent ergonomic properties.
The workstation crane products from Gorbel offer rigid end trucks which are good for load spotting applications. The trussed rail design offers spans up to 40’ and capacities up to 3 tons.
